Material Flow

The material flow of the plant is shown below for FY2023.

CO2 Emissions Trends

Total CO2 emissions in FY2023 decreased by approximately 19% compared to FY2017.

In FY2024, following a review of the Furukawa Electric Group targets, the Furukawa Battery's  target was set at 14% lower than in FY2021 (42% lower in FY2030).

To achieve the target, we will promote energy-saving activities such as heaterization of the casting process.

Trends of Water Withdrawal

Although water withdrawals increased in FY2022, it was reduced in FY2023 through promotion of reduction activities.

Water withdrawals in FY2023 are below the average of the last 10 years.

We will continue our water conservation efforts to achieve the FY2024 target as well.

Trends of Waste

In FY2023, the total waste volume was reduced by 8.8% compared to FY2020, and the recycling rate was 98.4%.

We will continue to implement waste reduction measures to achieve the FY2024 target as well.

Emissions and transfers of substances subject to PRTR Act

The following figures were taken in fiscal 2023 in accordance with the PRTR Act (Act on Confirmation, etc. of Release Amounts of Specific Chemical Substances in the Environment and Promotion of Improvements to the Management Thereof). We will continue to work on reducing emissions in the future.
